Fourteen months ago my blog died.
It was quick and unexpected. It didn’t suffer. Its small readership may not have even noticed.
When I hit the cancel button, what I didn’t know was that it would help bring on a new journey of self-discovery.
May 2018 the company I worked for laid off my entire department. While the loss of steady income was unnerving, a big part of me was relieved. My job was stressful. It stretched me daily and not in a good way.
My first thought, now I can really blog. I had a family travel blog and we were going to Cartagena for two weeks.
Instead of writing, I got distracted. I decided to focus on other things. I dabbled in e-commerce and a couple of other side hustles. I let them completely derail my writing.
In hindsight, it was nothing but self-sabotage.
I sabotaged my writing after an amazing summer at home with my family. Then in August returned to almost the exact same job I had before, the one that made me miserable.
I had the opportunity to find something I actually liked to do. I had the time to write but instead, I just flopped.
Since then, I’ve taken some time to reflect. I really had to examine why I wasn’t…
